MARTIN COUNTY, Fla. - The pilot of a twin engine Cessna that crashed in a Stuart neighborhood Friday is now home resting.
Stuart police say 71-year-old Marlin Moudy landed in an empty lot on Tressler Avenue near Federal Highway.
According to witnesses, the plane was flying east when it developed engine trouble. As it went down the plane hit a tree which knocked off a wing. Witnesses say the plane did a 360 degree turn and landed in an empty lot that used to be a fish hatchery.
Moudy suffered a head injury.
Neighbors say they were amazed and thankful that no homes were hit.
