Latest forecast from Storm Team 5

Early weekend rainfall, then improving quickly

Isolated to scattered showers and a few thunderstorms are possible today here in South Florida.  Any rainfall that develops will move quickly from southeast to northwest courtesy of gusty southeasterly winds.  Skies will remain mostly cloudy and high temperatures will reach the low 80s along the coast and mid 80s inland.  Rain chances will increase quickly tonight.

Tonight, showers and a few strong thunderstorms are possible overnight as a cold front approaches South Florida.  Gusty winds, heavy rain, and lightning are possible.  There is a slight chance for weak isolated tornadoes as well.  We will monitor this situation very closely.  Lows will be in the upper 60s and low 70s under cloudy skies.  Winds will be breezy out of the southwest.

Saturday, morning showers and thunderstorms will roll from west to east across our area and a few storms could be strong.  By mid to late morning skies will begin to clear from north to south (starting with the Treasure Coast and Okeechobee county), and by mid-afternoon more sunshine can be expected across the whole area.  Highs will be in the low to mid 80s with gusty winds out of the west/southwest and then northwest.
