A big tropical wave (Invest 97L) is headed for the Caribbean.
A tropical depression is likely to form in the next day or two, according to the National Hurricane Center and could become Matthew by the middle of the week.
This system could sit for quite a while in the Caribbean before beginning to move north toward the Bahamas next week.
An Air Force Hurricane Hunter aircraft is scheduled to investigate the disturbance on Tuesday afternoon, the National Hurricane Center said.
