FWC wants to find the person who speared a Goliath grouper found off Jupiter

The search is on for the person who shot a Goliath grouper with a spear gun.

The Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission  says a snorkeler in Jupiter reported finding the fish alive near the US 1 bridge. It had a stainless steal shaft in its head.

FWC sent out its research dive team who confirmed it.

Officials remind everyone it is illegal to harvest Goliath grouper.

If  you know anything about who shot the 5-foot long fish, you're urged to call the Wildlife Alert Hotline at 1-888-404-3922. You can also text or email them at  tip@myfwc.Com.
